Converter standalone to 5.1

I have two esxi stand alone servers, 4.1.0 & 5.1. I just stood up the 5.1 server and want to move some of my virtuals from the 4.1.0 server. I downloaded the latest standalone converter (5) and it crashed. I researched and found quite a few posts on this. One of the things people said to do was to use 4.3 converter, which I downloaded and installed. I get a little farther with this version, but when all information is entered and the conversion is supposed to start I get a "general system error occured: invalid fault" error and everything stops. I have tried going directly from the 4.1 vsphere server to the 5.1 as well as going from the flat file backups of my 4.1 virtual. I have tried using different versions of virtual machine version (9, 8, 7, and 4). Everything gives the same invalid fault error. Any additional ideas on how to get my virtuals from my 4.1.0 server to the 5.1 server? Both servers are on the HCL and I can install new servers from scratch on the 5.1 server, I just can't get an existing guest from one to the other.

The converter-gui.log doesn't really have anything standing out:

I wouldn't think moving a machine to their latest and greatest would be that much of an issue.
