We had a customer some time ago where they experienced an issue where we used RDMs - we stored the mapping files (pointers) on a VMFS datastore however this datastore had an issue where it would fluctuate between online and offline state - this is being investigated currently
my question relates to the state of the RDMs when this is happening .. i.e when the datastore containing the mapping files goes offline, what effect would that have on any RDMs ?
would they also go offline ?
also could do with more information on what exactly the pointer files are for
