I migrated all of my vm's off of the host machine (HP DL380) and performed an upgrade to 5.1 using the HP image. The upgrade started with the standard VIB missing error for net-vxge and scsi-3w-9xxx. I had to do the force migration and it all appeared to work fine. The server booted right up and all the configs were there. When I went to vmotion the vm's back to the host, I got an error saying there was no communication to the vmotion network. I tried pinging the vmotion address of this updated server and got no reply. I can ping the vmotion address of another host still on 4.1. I tried shutting down a vm and migrating it over to the 5.1 host and that worked fine. I powered up the vm and all looks good. I just can't use the vmotion while the machine is powered on. I am only changing hosts, not storage.
