ello ESXer,

I have a question about directpath a GPU.
But first off all here are my system specs:

#CPU AMD FX810
#MOBO Asrock 990FX Extreme 3
#GPU GTX580
#ESXi 5.1

I  have managed to pass through the GPU it is listed as a divice in the  pathtrough-screen. Also the audio chip which is on the card gots  recognized. When I fired up the VM I was also able to install the  drivers for the card. Everything looked ok, but when I try to open the  Nvidia controllpanel it says that my gpu is not connected to any  display. And when I look into the hardware manager there is a little  callsign and an error code 43 saying that the device was shut down due  to some problem. If I deactive the SVGA(the basic emulated card fom  VMware) the callsign disappears, but instead of loading/binding my  dedicated gpu to the system, esxi is just loading a worse driver version  of SVGA called VGA(no shit sherlock ;) ) .
So  here is the final question: Is there any chance of getting things to  work and if so how? Maybe some of you guys have managed to get some  cards to work so you get some decend performance to play games or render  some 3D stuff. So maybe you also could tell me which cards were  working.
Just for the sake of completeness I want to mention, that  I've also tried to pass throug a ATI HD7870, but had also no luck even  worse the card was recogniced as 'unknown device' and I wasnt even able  to power up the VM.

Maybe some one can help me please :D
your's Herb
