Hi,
an issue we've just encountered:
netbackup finished a VM backup and initiated snapshot removal. however VM experienced a large storage change during that time, so delta has grown so fast and large that the datastore has run out of space, and netbackup never finished removing the snapshot, and the below error was observed:
Remove snapshot
The operation cannot be allowed at the current time because the virtual machine has a question pending: 'msg.hbacommon.o-utofspace:There is no more space for
virtual disk <name snipped>1.vmdk. You might be able to continue this session by freeing disk space on the relevant volume, and clicking Retry. Click Cancel to
terminate this session. '.<session name snipped> 12/5/2013 7:23:48 AM 12/5/2013 7:23:48 AM

It took two manual tasks: "answering virtual machine question" and 'removing all snapshots' before VM was successfully started back up.
Apart from making sure we have more free space on the datastores, I was wondering if enabling Storage DRS could have alleviated this issue? That is if SDRS is fast enough to detect this quick datastore fill-up, and if it is even able to initiate storage migration during for a VM's snapshot creation or removal?
Thanks.
