There was a power failure a few times and my servers went down. There was no problems until recently.
This just start happening and noticed that windows 2008 virtual machines had no network connectivity. So no AD access, no vCenter access .. NADA.
My workaround was to add a new vmnic, disable the old nic, and change the ip so that it looked like the old nic. This is all within a 2008 virtual machine.
But now this doesn't work either. When i add a new nic to 2k8 and not give it a static ip, connection works for around 10 minutes then drops. When i change it to static ip connection doesn't work. The wired thing is that after i give it a static ip and a gateway then disable and enable the nic it drops the gateway so i have to go back and enter the gateway again. It will then work. But again for only about 10 minutes then it drops.
Short of taking a baseball bat to my machines or trying to start from scratch again does anyone have some solutions as to why this is happening?
