I have an empty datastore, that will not enter maintenance mode.
It hangs on "Waiting for all VM files to be migrated from the datastore" ... which is a phrase that doesn't even show up in Google.
Here is the contents of the datastore
I migrated all of the hosts that were on it. Disconnected the ISOs from the hosts that were using them, and deleted all of the ISOs.
The only related strange thing is that some of the hosts that were on the datastore still show as being connected to it.
Many would assume that this is due to it still being connected to an ISO image, however as you can see there are no ISO images on the drive, and there is nothing hiding in those folders. I had no problems deleting the ISO images, and yes I disconnected the ISO images before VMotioning the clients.
Why they still think they are connected to something is beyond me, but I suspect that it is one of the reasons my datastore won't go into maintenance mode.
I am running ESXi 5.1.0, 799733 (custom build from IBM) on BladeCenter HS22V blades. Storage is connected by FiberChannel to an IBM Storwize v7000.
I presume that this is a bug in the system. Please let me know if I am wrong.
