I have this issue that there is "low snapshot space" alarms going off.
I am using the Dell Equallogic smartcopy instead of the VM snapshot. For some Vms they run daily, others weekly with at least 4 versions.
The "smartcopy" or snapshots are stored outside the datastore on "snapshot storage, usually 100% of space allocated to the datastore".
The thing is that the 5th copy is usually removed after the 1st copy is created, thus only leaving 4 copies. Somehow when all 5 copies are stored for the split second or a few minutes, the storage would sometimes hit 85% or above. This leads to the vCenter throwing out the "low snapshot space" alarms.
The trigger for the alarm was preset by Equallogic. Is there a way to clear the alarm if the storage falls back to normal ?
