COM port assignment

Hello,

I just installed our first IBM system x3650 M4 7915 with ESX 5.1.0.

I am trying to assign the serial port (RS-232) of the server to a virtual machine, but I am not able to establish a connection to my test device (cisco 3750)

The FAQ (http://pubs.vmware.com/vsphere-50/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.vmware.vsphere.vm_admin.doc_50%2FGUID-ACADB450-85A6-4F6E-9269-F11DC71D2564.html) and some discussions that I found on google doesn't help me because I do not find anything regarding ESXi5.

Is there a way to assign the port to my VM?

I played a bit with the bios settings for this port, but it is still not working.

Port settings, baud rate/data bits etc. should be the same in bios as well as in my guest VM.

Any ideas?
